I usually undertake 2-3 Non-Executive and Non-Executive Chairman roles. As well as attending board meetings, I emphasise supporting the senior management team to establish a “see-through” strategy which navigates a route to achieving the company mission and delivering on expectations.
The plan generally forms a single A4 page, setting out the fundamental tasks supporting the Mission. I run board meetings using this as the central pillar.
